ESOF 2010: Euroscience Open Forum in Turin from July 2-7, 2010

ESOF – Euroscience Open Forum – is the biennial European meeting dedicated to scientific research and innovation created by Euroscience. ESOF 2010 starts in Turin on 2 July 2010. The great questions of science and technology, emerging scientific and cultural trends, the ethical social doubts and concerns that appear on the horizon of society and the scientific community will be on stage. A unique opportunity to meet in Europe to present and discuss the frontiers of scientific and technological research, the relationship between science and society and to stimulate policies to support scientific research.

ESOF is:
  • Scientific Programme: seminars, workshops, debates on the most topical issues in scientific research and the relationship between science and society
  • Career Programme: initiative for young European researchers
  • Science to Business: appointments dedicated to business and potential entrepreneurs
  • Science to Media: a specific agenda dedicated to discussion on science communication
  • Science in the City: events to take scientific culture to the general public
  • Exhibition: a display case for scientific and technological research in Europe
  • Social and satellite events: more events and conferences held in the host city

Euroscience is an independent grassroots association of scientists from 40 countries. Membership is open to researchers, science managers, policy-makers, politicians, teachers, Ph.D. students, engineers, business people and citizens in general who are interested in science and technology and its interaction with society. Scientists from all disciplines are represented in Euroscience, from the humanities to experimental sciences. Members include those who work for the public sector, universities and research centres, and for the private sector. It was founded in 1997 to provide a forum for debate in science and technology, to strengthen the links between science and society, to contribute to the integration of Europe, and to influence in science and technology policies.
